Planning environmental education to raise awareness of climate perception and thermal comfort among pedestrians on Avenida Frei Serafim, downtown Teresina

Resumo: The city of Teresina, capital of Piauí, is popularly seen as one of the hottest capitals in Brazil, with an average temperature of 28°C and maximum temperatures that exceed 40°C. High temperatures are the reason for campaigns to encourage the prevention of damage to health caused by these climatic fluctuations that increase, for example, the risk of skin problems. However, in addition to health problems arising from an uncomfortable environment, with a temperature that tends to be unhealthy; It is interesting to survey data on climate perception among different audiences in the capital of Piauí, as an experimental means of obtaining information to help in the formatting of public policies for the different managing bodies, as well as to think about environmental education actions. The present work was developed with the purpose of analyzing how the perception of thermal discomfort occurs from the perspective of the pedestrian, (in addition to other climatic factors) that characterize the high temperatures experienced by Teresina society in large periods of the year, from of a sample based on Av. Friar Seraphim; where we sought to individually assess the heightened perception of heat; both by climatic phenomena and by human activity identified in the area, directly influencing the quality of life of people who transit there, as well as; based on the principle that the actions to be carried out by the public power must be thought of jointly with society, enabling its integration and participation in decision-making that interfere in public spaces.

Las altas temperaturas son motivo de campañas para fomentar la prevención de los daños a la salud provocados por estas fluctuaciones climáticas que aumentan, por ejemplo, el riesgo de problemas cutáneos. Sin embargo, además de los problemas de salud derivados de un ambiente incómodo, con una temperatura que tiende a ser poco saludable; Es interesante relevar datos sobre la percepción del clima entre diferentes públicos en la capital de Piauí, como un medio experimental de obtención de información para ayudar en la formación de políticas públicas para los diferentes órganos de gestión, así como para pensar acciones de educación ambiental. El presente trabajo se desarrolló con el propósito de analizar cómo se produce la percepción del malestar térmico desde la perspectiva del peatón, (además de otros factores climáticos) que caracterizan las altas temperaturas que experimenta la sociedad teresina en grandes períodos del año, desde una muestra con base en Av. Fray Serafín; donde buscamos evaluar individualmente la percepción elevada de calor; tanto por fenómenos climáticos como por la actividad humana identificada en la zona, influyendo directamente en la calidad de vida de las personas que transitan por ella, así como; partiendo del principio de que las acciones a realizar por el poder público deben ser pensadas en conjunto con la sociedad, posibilitando su integración y participación en la toma de decisiones que interfieren en los espacios públicos.A cidade de Teresina, capital do Piauí, é vista popularmente como uma das capitais mais quentes do Brasil, com temperatura média de 28°C e máximas que ultrapassam os 40°C. As altas temperaturas são motivo de campanhas de incentivo a prevenção de danos à saúde ocasionados por essas oscilações climáticas que potencializam, por exemplo, os riscos de problemas dermatológicos. Contudo, para além dos problemas de saúde advindos de um ambiente desconfortável, de temperatura que tende à insalubridade; torna-se interessante um levantamento de dados sobre a percepção climática entre os diferentes públicos na capital do Piauí, como meio experimental de obtenção de informações para ajudar na formatação de políticas públicas para os diferentes órgãos gestores, como também para pensar ações de educação ambiental. O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido com a finalidade de analisar como se dá a percepção do desconforto térmico a partir da perspectiva do pedestre, (para além dos demais fatores climáticos) que caracterizam as altas temperaturas vividas pela sociedade teresinense em grandes períodos do ano, a partir de uma amostra baseada na Av.
