Resumo: The seed is the input with the highest added value, as it contains the genetic constitution of the variety. Where the maximum agricultural productivity potential is determined by the genetic potential. Therefore, increasingly, understanding the issue of seed health has become fundamental in order to further increase agricultural productivity and competitiveness in the country. Thus, among the production factors inherent to the cultivation of agricultural species, seed health becomes an important and growing issue at the time of management definition, considering its influence on the establishment and development of crops. The sanitary factors are characterized by providing deleterious effects caused by microorganisms and insects when present in the seeds. In this sense, the present work aims to describe the characterization of sanitary standards for seed production and studies on the current legislation for carrying out sanitary tests.

Donde el potencial máximo de productividad agrícola está determinado por el potencial genético. Por ello, cada vez más, entender el tema de la sanidad de las semillas se ha vuelto fundamental para seguir aumentando la productividad y competitividad agrícola del país. Así, entre los factores de producción inherentes al cultivo de especies agrícolas, la sanidad de las semillas se convierte en un tema importante y creciente al momento de definir el manejo, considerando su influencia en el establecimiento y desarrollo de los cultivos. Los factores sanitarios se caracterizan por proporcionar efectos deletéreos causados por microorganismos e insectos cuando están presentes en las semillas. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo describir la caracterización de las normas sanitarias para la producción de semillas y estudios sobre la legislación vigente para la realización de pruebas sanitarias.A semente é o insumo com maior valor agregado, pois contém a constituição genética da variedade. Onde o máximo potencial de produtividade agrícola é determinado pelo potencial genético. Por isso, cada vez mais, entender sobre a questão de sanidade de sementes vem tornando-se fundamental para que se possa incrementar ainda mais a produtividade e a competitividade agrícola no país. Dessa forma, dentre os fatores de produção inerentes ao cultivo das espécies agrícolas, a sanidade de sementes torna-se um quesito importante e crescente no momento da definição do manejo, considerando sua influência sobre o estabelecimento e desenvolvimento das culturas. Os fatores sanitários caracterizam-se por propiciar efeitos deletérios ocasionados por microrganismos e insetos quando presentes nas sementes.
