Analysis of incidents notified to the National Health Surveillance Notification System (NOTIVISA) in Brazil from 2014 to 2019

Resumo: Objective: To describe and analyze incidents not specified in the national health examination notification program (NOTIVISA) in Brazil from 2014 to 2019. Methodology: It is a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective study; the epidemiological profile of the notifications registered in NOTIVISA was analyzed. Results: The incidents were recorded by macro-regions, where 44.1% confer to the Southeast region; the states of Minas Gerais (21.20%), São Paulo (16.08%) and Paraná (12.22%) had the highest number of notifications in the period; 93.44% of the incidents occur in hospitals, among which 52% occur in the hospitalization sectors. As for types, 25% were classified as failures during health care, pressure ulcers (18.38%) and 30% as "Others"; 52% of the incidents were classified as mild and 31% were not classified as to severity; as for sex, there was no significant difference; in the age group of reported incidents, they mainly occur among adults (33.26%) and the elderly (38.90%). Conclusion: The notification system is an essential tool for monitoring, control and quality of health services, an end to the investigation of adverse events and promotes improvements in health service, patient safety, cost reduction.

Metodología: estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, retrospectivo, se describió el perfil epidemiológico de las notificaciones registradas en Notivisa. Resultados: los incidentes se registraron por macrorregiones, donde 44.1% se refieren a la región sudeste; los estados de Minas Gerais (21.20%), São Paulo (16.08%) y Paraná (12.22%) tuvieron el mayor número de notificaciones en el período; El 93.44% de los incidentes ocurrieron en hospitales, entre los cuales el 52% ocurrió en los sectores de hospitalización. En cuanto a los tipos, el 25% se clasificó como fallas durante la atención médica, úlceras por presión (18.38%) y el 30% como "Otros"; El 52% de los incidentes se clasificaron como leves y el 31% no se clasificaron en cuanto a gravedad; en cuanto al sexo, no hubo diferencia significativa; En el grupo de edad, los incidentes reportados ocurrieron principalmente entre adultos (33.26%) y ancianos (38.90%). Conclusión: El sistema de notificación es una herramienta esencial para el monitoreo, control y calidad de los servicios de salud, a fin de investigar eventos adversos y promover mejoras en el servicio de salud, la seguridad del paciente y la reducción de costos.Objetivo: Descrever e analisar incidentes notificados no programa nacional de notificação para a vigilância sanitária (NOTIVISA) no Brasil no período de 2014 á 2019. Metodologia: Estudo quantitativo, descritivo, retrospectivo, delineou-se o perfil epidemiológico das notificações registradas no Notivisa. Resultados: Foram registrados incidentes por macrorregiões, onde 44,1% conferem a região Sudeste; os estados de Minas Gerais (21,20%), São Paulo (16,08%) e Paraná (12,22%) obtiveram o maior número de notificações no período; 93,44% dos incidentes ocorreram em Hospitais, dentre os quais 52% ocorreram nos setores de internação. Quanto aos tipos, 25% foram classificados como falhas durante a assistência á saúde, ulcera por pressão (18,38%) e 30% como “Outros”; 52% dos incidentes foram classificados como leves e 31% não foram classificados quanto à gravidade; quanto ao sexo não houve diferença significativa; na faixa etária os incidentes notificados ocorreram majoritariamente entre adultos (33,26%) e idosos (38,90%).
