Educational program in palliative care for healthcare professionals: a systematic review

Resumo: Introduction: Introduction: The population aging technological advances led to an increase in the number of elderly people with chronic and life-threatening diseases, requiring a demand for prepared and competent health professionals in palliative care. Objective: To systematically examine the literature on provision of education in palliative care for health professionals. Method: A systematic literature review was performed. Regarding the search for publications, it was carried out through the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS) and International Literature in Health Sciences (PUBMED) databases. Results: 335 studies were found, 138 from Lilacs, 67 from Scielo and 130 from Pubmed, on which 09 publications met the criteria for inclusion in the study. Conclusion: From the analysis of the selected studies, it appears that there is a need to increase and improve the offers of educational programs in Palliative Care for health professionals, in which training still prioritizes programs aimed at treating acute and chronic clinical conditions of patients, without paying attention to the care that the patient should receive at the end of life, when there is no longer any disease-modifying therapy.

Objetivo: Examinar sistemáticamente la literatura sobre la provisión de educación en cuidados paliativos para profesionales de la salud. Método: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura. En cuanto a la búsqueda de publicaciones, se realizó a través de las bases de datos Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS) y International Literature in Health Sciences (PUBMED). Resultados: se encontraron 335 estudios, 138 de Lilacs, 67 de Scielo y 130 de Pubmed, de los cuales 09 publicaciones cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión en el estudio. Conclusión: Del análisis de los estudios seleccionados, surge que existe la necesidad de aumentar y mejorar las ofertas de programas educativos en Cuidados Paliativos para los profesionales de la salud, en los que la formación aún prioriza los programas dirigidos al tratamiento de las condiciones clínicas agudas y crónicas de los pacientes. sin prestar atención a los cuidados que debe recibir el paciente al final de la vida, cuando ya no existe ninguna terapia modificadora de la enfermedad.Introdução: O envelhecimento da população e os avanços tecnológicos propiciaram o aumento de idosos com doenças crônicas e ameaçadoras à vida, exigindo uma demanda por profissionais de saúde preparados e com competência em cuidados paliativos. Objetivo: examinar sistematicamente a literatura sobre a oferta de educação em cuidados paliativos para profissionais de saúde. Método: Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática de literatura. Referente à busca de publicações, ocorreu através das bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe (LILACS) e Literatura Internacional em Ciências da Saúde (PUBMED). Resultados: Foram encontrados 335 estudos, sendo 138 no Lilacs, 67 do Scielo e 130 do Pubmed, dos quais 09 publicações apresentaram os critérios para inclusão no estudo.
