Resumo: Objective: To reveal the sociodemographic profile of Nursing students from a Public University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, regarding the variables Sex, Color / ethnicity / race were used; Age, Marital status, Presence of Offspring, Cohabitation and Responsible for family. Methods: It is a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive, field research, which is an excerpt of a doctoral thesis. For data analysis, simple and non-inferential statistics were used. The sample included 25 Nursing students from the fifth period. Results: The sociodemographic variables were tabulated in absolute and relative values ​​for a profile mapping of students. Conclusion: The findings of the present study allowed the mapping of the sociodemographic profile of the studied population, demonstrating the structure of the group, thus obtaining a fraction of the social identity of these students. The study evidenced that the profile of the participants is composed, for the most part, of young adults, female, single, without children, belonging to classes D and E who seek Nursing because of their affinity or desire for insertion in the health area.

Metodología: Se trata de una investigación de campo cualitativa, exploratoria-descriptiva, que es un recorte de una tesis doctoral. Para el análisis de datos se utilizó estadística simple y no inferencial. La muestra incluyó 25 estudiantes de Enfermería del quinto período. Resultados: Las variables sociodemográficas fueron tabuladas en valores absolutos y relativos para un mapeo del perfil de los estudiantes. Conclusión: Los hallazgos de la presente investigación posibilitar el mapeo del perfil sociodemográfico de la población estudiada, demostrando la estructura del grupo, obteniéndose así una fracción de la identidad social de esos estudiantes. El estudio evidenció que el perfil de los participantes está compuesto, en su mayoría, por adultos jóvenes, del sexo femenino, solteros, sin hijos, pertenecientes a las clases D y E que buscan la Enfermería por su afinidad o deseo de inserción en el área de salud.Objetivo: Desvelar o perfil sociodemográfico dos estudantes de Enfermagem de uma Universidade Pública do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, relativamente às variáveis de Sexo, Cor/ etnia / raça, Idade, Estado civil, Presença de Prole, Coabitação e Responsável pela família. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, exploratório-descritiva, de campo, sendo esta um recorte de tese de doutorado. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se estatística simples e não inferencial. A amostragem contou com 25 estudantes de Enfermagem do quinto período. Resultados: As variáveis sociodemográficas foram tabuladas em valores absolutos e relativos expressando o perfil dos estudantes. Conclusão: Os achados possibilitaram a exposição do perfil sociodemográfico da população estudada, demonstrando a estrutura do grupo, obtendo-se assim, uma fração da identidade social desses estudantes.
