Pesticides management in grain cultivate and its relationship with health and environment

Resumo: | The aim of this study was identify how occur the pesticides management used in grain cultivate and its relationship with health and environment in Santa Catarina Plateau region. Seventy-nine farmers that cultivate grains (soybean, corn and bean) were interviewed to collect information about sociodemographic data and of your rural property, use, transport, storage and disposal of pesticides wastes. Almost half of farmers do the pesticides transport in closed car, with other products and does not have an exclusive place to storage de pesticides. Besides, 26.6% do not receive technical assistance, 25.3% buy pesticides without prescription and 5.1% do not perform reverse logistics of empty containers. It was used 40 different types of pesticides in grain cultivate, being the glyphosate the herbicide most used, follow by the fungicide propinebe and insecticide acephate. In view of the agriculture model based in monoculture that imposes farmer’s use of pesticides, the results of this study can be considered a public health problem once the transportation, storage, and specially the inappropriately dispose of residues and empty containers can cause contamination on several environmental compartment, as well, the human health. |

Se entrevistaron 79 agricultores que cultivan granos (soja, maíz y frijol) para recopilar información sobre datos sociodemográficos y de su propiedad rural, uso, transporte, almacenamiento y disposición de residuos de plaguicidas. Casi la mitad de los agricultores realizan el transporte de plaguicidas en carro cerrado, con otros productos y no tiene un lugar exclusivo para el almacenamiento de plaguicidas. Además, el 26,6% no recibe asistencia técnica, el 25,3% compra plaguicidas sin receta y el 5,1% no realiza logística inversa de envases vacíos. Se utilizaron 40 tipos diferentes de pesticidas en el cultivo de granos, siendo el glifosato el herbicida más utilizado, seguido del fungicida propinebe y el insecticida acefato. En vista del modelo agrícola basado en el monocultivo que impone el uso de plaguicidas por parte de los agricultores, los resultados de este estudio pueden ser considerados un problema de salud pública una vez que el transporte, almacenamiento y especialmente la disposición inapropiada de residuos y envases vacíos pueden causar contaminación en varios ambientes ambientales. compartimento, así, la salud humana.Este estudo teve por objetivo identificar como ocorre o manejo de agrotóxicos utilizados no cultivo de grãos e sua relação com a saúde e o ambiente em um município da região da Serra Catarinense. Foram entrevistados 79 agricultores que cultivam grãos (soja, milho e feijão) para coleta de informações sociodemográficas e de suas propriedades, sobre o uso, transporte, armazenamento e descarte das embalagens vazias. Quase metade dos agricultores transporta agrotóxicos em carro fechado, junto com outros produtos e não possui local exclusivo para o armazenamento dos produtos. Além disso, 26,6% deles relataram não receber assistência técnica, 25,3% compram agrotóxico sem receita e 5,1% não realizam logística reversa das embalagens. Foram utilizados 40 tipos de agrotóxicos diferentes no cultivo de grãos, sendo o herbicida glifosato o mais utilizado, seguido fungicida propinebe e o inseticida acefato.
