Association of the main hematological, biochemical and immunological parameters in critical and non-critical patients with COVID-19: a systematic review

Resumo: | Introduction: COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, responsible for mainly affecting the lungs and triggering respiratory pathologies, as well as developing liver, neurological and gastrointestinal problems. The objective of this systematic review was to conduct a survey of studies with the main laboratory markers of patients with COVID-19 relating the abnormalities of these results to the clinical prediction of severe and non-severe patients. Methodology: This study was conducted following the methodological guidelines of a Systematic Review according to the PRISMA protocol, of which searches were carried out in the electronic databases PubMed, LILACS, EMBASE, Science, medRxiv, and bioRxiv, using the keywords- keys: "SARS-CoV-2" OR "COVID- 19" OR "Coronavirus" AND "Laboratory Parameters" AND "Exams" OR "Laboratory". Eligible articles published from January 2020 to May 20, 2020 were used, without language restrictions containing hematological, biochemical and immunological laboratory data. Results: According to this review, 16 eligible articles were selected. The main abnormalities were observed in critically ill patients with significant changes in some hematological, biochemical and immunological parameters, such as: ferritin, lymphocytes, D-Dimer, LDH, AST, PCR, Procalcitonin, TcnI and IL-6. Conclusion: The present study demonstrates the relevance of laboratory tests to assist healthcare professionals in carrying out necessary measures and appropriate therapeutic approaches for the treatment of patients infected with coronavirus. |

Metodología: Este estudio se realizó siguiendo los lineamientos metodológicos de una Revisión Sistemática según el protocolo PRISMA, de la cual se realizaron búsquedas en las bases de datos electrónicas PubMed, LILACS, EMBASE, Science, medRxiv y bioRxiv, utilizando las palabras clave- claves: "SARS-CoV-2" O "COVID-19" O "Coronavirus" Y "Parámetros de laboratorio" Y "Exámenes" O "Laboratorio". Se utilizaron artículos elegibles publicados desde enero de 2020 hasta el 20 de mayo de 2020, sin restricciones de idioma, que contenían datos de laboratorio hematológicos, bioquímicos e inmunológicos. Resultados: Según esta revisión, se seleccionaron 16 artículos elegibles. Las principales anomalías se observaron en pacientes críticos con cambios significativos en algunos parámetros hematológicos, bioquímicos e inmunológicos, como: ferritina, linfocitos, D-Dimer, LDH, AST, PCR, Procalcitonina, TcnI e IL-6. Conclusión: El presente estudio demuestra la relevancia de las pruebas de laboratorio para ayudar a los profesionales sanitarios a llevar a cabo las medidas necesarias y los enfoques terapéuticos adecuados para el tratamiento de pacientes infectados por coronavirus.Introdução: A COVID-19 é uma doença infectocontagiosa causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, responsável por acometer principalmente os pulmões e desencadear patologias respiratórias, como também desenvolver problemas hepáticos, neurológicas e gastrointestinais. O objetivo desta revisão sistemática foi realizar um levantamento de estudos com os principais marcadores laboratoriais de pacientes com COVID-19 relacionando as anormalidades destes resultados com a predição clínica de pacientes graves e não graves. Metodologia: Este estudo foi conduzido seguindo as diretrizes metodológicas de uma Revisão Sistemática de acordo com o protocolo PRISMA, dos quais, realizou-se buscas nas bases eletrônicas PubMed, LILACS, EMBASE, Science, medRxiv, e bioRxiv, utilizando as palavras-chaves: "SARS-CoV-2" OR "COVID-19" OR "Coronavirus" AND “Laboratory Parameters” AND "Exams" OR "Laboratory". Foram utilizados artigos elegíveis publicados a partir de janeiro de 2020 até 20 de maio de 2020, sem restrições de idioma contendo dados laboratoriais hematológicos, bioquímicos e imunológicos. Resultados: De acordo com esta revisão foram selecionados 16 artigos elegíveis. As principais anormalidades foram observadas em pacientes graves com alterações expressivas em alguns parâmetros hematológicos, bioquímicos e imunológicos, sendo estes: ferritina, linfócitos, D-Dímero, LDH, AST, PCR, Procalcitonina, TcnI e IL-6.
