Resumo: The essay proposes to think about the temporal arc that links the Independence event with historical discipline, in its different moments. The central issue to be explored is the emerging conflict between two distinct forms of historical representation, one inherited from the conceptual horizon of Independence, the other formulated within a new socio-economic semantic network. Through the analysis of a specific case, represented by the company Brasil Paralelo, we seek an understanding of how this new type of historical representation works, here called “history as a service”.
