Resumo: The essay discusses some of the limits imposed on the adventure of research by academic bureaucratization that defines research in a time of administered society. It defends the need to recover the intellectual role of the researcher, highlighting some elements considered essential for the work: spare time, silence, loneliness, sharing capacities. It concludes that, denied those elements, research, as it is organized and institutionalized today, has become one of the spheres of thought bureaucratization, contributing to an anti-investigative technocratic posture that contributes to annihilate curiosity, doubt, and confronting the ignorance that investigation should foster.

O ensaio discute alguns dos limites impostos à aventura da investigação pela burocratização acadêmica que define a pesquisa em tempos de sociedade administrada. Defende a necessária recuperação do papel intelectual do pesquisador, destacando alguns elementos considerados es- senciais para o seu labor: o tempo, o ócio; o silêncio; a solidão; o compartilhamento.
