Resumo: Health is a right that must be ensured and promoted by the State. Is necessary to think about it in an extended way and consider the inequalities and inequities that exist within society. In the case of trans men, one perceives an invisibility of the subjects in the scope of health. This qualitative/ exploratory study aimed to know the main health needs of trans men, access and their perceptions about the Unified Health System (SUS) and how this experience influences their well-being. Eight men between the ages of 20 and 50 who identified themselves as trans were interviewed, and the analysis was based on the Thematic Analysis. It was evidenced the use of the social name as little used and/or respected by the professionals in the consultations, generating situations of embarrassment for the trans men. The pour discussion about transsexuality, undergraduate courses and daily activities, coupled with the lack of literature, corroborate unprepared professionals and unpleasant services. Access to services specialized in hormone therapy and surgeries are seen as a means to recognize the social belonging of trans men. At the same time, the access to these services is through the pathologization of their existence, reaffirming the normalizing model in health.

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasSolka, Anna CarolineDe Antoni, Clarissa2020-02-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/489510.18316/sdh.v8i1.4895Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 1 (2020); p. 07-16Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 1 (2020); p. 07-162317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/4895/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4895/927https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4895/928https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4895/1107https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4895/1108Direitos autorais 2020 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-03-31T12:20:59Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/4895Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-03-31T12:20:59Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
