Resumo: | The Open University System of Brazil (UAB) is composed by public universities which are aimed at offering upper-level courses through the Open andDistance Education. This article is aimed at pointing a few remarks on the challenges of Distance Education (EAD) in the Geography teaching at UAB/UNIMONTES. We interviewed the teachers who work in the Distance Geography course . We noted that the most profissionals’ difficulties are related to the process of building a new way of teaching. The participants have tried to improve their knowledge in order to provide good educational standart to all those involved in the distance learning. |

O presente artigo tem por objetivo tecer algumas considerações sobre os desafios da EAD no ensino da Geografia da UAB/UNIMONTES. Entrevistamos os professores que atuam no curso de Geografia nessa modalidade de ensino. Constatamos que as dificuldades encontradas pela maioria dos profissionais estão relacionadas ao processo de construção de uma nova modalidade de ensino.
