Resumo: | In this article, the construction of identities and feminist theology as part of a cultural revolution, specifically in the defense of reproductive and sexual rights, is the central theme. Throughout history, gender relations have been shaped to serve the interests of the patriarchy, configuring themselves as cultural constructions of identities, involving power relations, which resulted in the oppression and submission of women and in the naturalization of these relations. Feminist theology emerges as a movement of cultural revolution, because, within religious institutions, places that tend to be propellers of the patriarchy, seek to break with gender stereotypes and fight for women's rights and spaces. In this context, the discussion about voluntary termination of pregnancy, in a formally secular state, as in Brazil, should not necessarily cross the religious view of the subject. However, knowing the cultural, legal and legislative relevance that religious views can exert on sexuality issues, feminist theology comes to contribute to the debate, because it respects the feminine place of women who are part of religious organizations and gives them a voice to do a theological-religious and feminine reading on abortion. The method of deductive reasoning and the method of socio-historical-analytical approach are used to draw, through feminist theology, discussions and possibilities of understanding the aforementioned theme. |
