The influence of labor gymnastics practice in the intention of physical exercises practice: a vision of employees of a Vale dos Sinos company

Resumo: | BACKGROUND: Labor gymnastics is the practice of physical exercises during working hours. Classes are usually designed by a physical education teacher with exercises to compensate for repetitive movements and inappropriate postures at work. Labor gymnastics is is structured and applied to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders, in addition to combating sedentary lifestyle, increasing productivity at work and encouraging the practice of physical exercises outside the work environment.OBJECTIVE: This study aims to identify the influence of the constructs of labor gymnastics in the intention of physical exercise practices outside the working day in a company in Vale dos Sinos. METHODS: A survey was conducted with 207 company employees from different departments. The statistical technique used was Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) which the conceptual model was tested. RESULTS: The results indicate a good adjustment of the model according to the literature. The hypothesis test of the H2b research with the recreation construct did not have any influence on socialization, and the H3a hypotheses with the teacher construct and H3c with the socialization construct, did not show positive effects for the intention of practicing physical exercises.CONCLUSION: The results make it possible to reflect on the teacher’s role in workplace gymnastics, in addition to understanding the practices performed in class. |

As aulas costumam ser elaboradas por um professor de educação física com exercícios de compensação aos movimentos repetitivos e posturas inadequadas no trabalho. A ginástica laboral é estruturada e aplicada para prevenir distúrbios osteomusculares relacionados ao trabalho, além de combate ao sedentarismo, aumentando a produtividade no trabalho e instigando a prática de exercícios físicos fora do ambiente de trabalho.OBJETIVO: O presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar a influência da ginástica laboral na intenção de práticas de exercícios físicos fora da jornada de trabalho em uma empresa do Vale dos Sinos.MÉTODOS: Foi realizada um ‘survey’ com 207 funcionários de diferentes setores da empresa. A técnica estatística usada foi modelagem de equações estruturais (MEE) por meio da qual foi testado o modelo conceitual.RESULTADOS: Os resultados indicaram o ajuste adequado do modelo de acordo com a literatura. Os resultados do teste das hipóteses apresentaram que a recreação não apresentou influência na socialização, e as hipóteses sobre o professor e socialização não apresentaram efeitos positivos para a intenção de prática de exercícios físicos.
