Institutional practices that encourage integration and cooperation among federal entities reveal importance in the process to change the political discontinuity and stagnation in the border regions development. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to demonstrate the contribution of a public intermunicipal consortium on the promotion of a transfrontiers integrated development from the experience on the Intermunicipal Transfrontier Consortium (CIF). Methodologically speaking,  it is a qualitative research,  and exploratory and descriptive on it’s purpose, performed by the bibliographic and documentary techniques. As a result, we have that the consortiums work as a strategy for effective integrated cross-border development, because it worth mechanisms that nurture the implementation, management and shared implementation of public policies to solve common experience problems. As a conclusion, the actions planned and executed by the CIF has brought beneficial impacts, not only for the local community, but to the entire regional context.
