Identification and evaluation of the antimicrobial susceptibility by salmonella serotypes from broilers productive chain at Southern Brazil

Resumo: The Brazilian poultry sector has been gaining more and more competitiveness. Among the main concerns are foodborne illness – DTAs. Salmonella stands out among biological agents that cause foodborne diseases. Another issue associated with pathogens is the increase in bacterial resistance to antimicrobials. In this research we aimed to identify and characterize isolates of serotypes of Salmonella sp. of a productive chain of broiler chicken, analysing the antimicrobial susceptibility profile. Chicken samples were obtained from the aviary environment, from the production chain in southern Brazil. Chicken samples were obtained from the aviary environment from the production chain in southern Brazil. Twenty-three strains of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serotype Heidelberg: n=16, as well as others belonging to the serotypes: Agona (n = 1); Cuban (n = 1) Virchow (n = 1) Rissen (n = 1); Schwarzengrund (n = 1); M.Bandaka (n = 1) and Anatum (n = 1). The antimicrobial susceptibility profile was tested by disk diffusion in Mueller-Hinton agar, with the antimicrobials: Fosfomycin 200μg, Ceftiofur 30μg, Norfloxacin 10μg, Incubation at 35 +/- 1 °C 24h. The serotype Salmonella Typhimurium CCCD-S004 was used as control. The highest resistance profile of the strains (8.7%) was to Florfenicol. The serotype Salmonella Schwarzengrund was resistant to several antimicrobials. Salmonella sp.  is recurrent in the productive chain of broiler chicken and resistance to antimicrobials implies in the constant monitoring and new measures of control of dissemination of the pathogen.

Introducción: El sector avícola brasileño viene ganando cada vez más competitividad. Pero la resistencia bacteriana a los antimicrobianos es una preocupación constante. El patógeno Salmonella se destaca entre los agentes biológicos vehiculados por alimentos capaces de causar enfermedades. Objetivos: Identificar y caracterizar los aislamentos de  Salmonella de la cadena productiva de pollo de corte, así como el análisis de perfil de susceptibilidad a los antimicrobianos. Metodología:  Muestras de pollo fueron obtenidas de ambiente aviario, de cadena productiva en el sur de Brasil. Resultados. Se aislaron 23 linajes de Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica: n=16 del suerotipo Heidelberg; como demás pertenecientes a los serotipos: Agona; Cubana; Virchow; Rissen; Schwarzengrund; M.Bandaka  y Anatum. El perfil de susceptibilidad antimicrobiana fue probado por disco de difusión en agar Mueller-Hinton, con los antimicrobianos: Fosfomicina 200μg, Ceftiofur 30μg, Norfloxacina 10μg, Últimos comentarios en este artículo: Ocasiones de las personas que compiten con los demás. Incubación a 35 +/- 1ºC 24h. S. Typhimurium CCCD-S004 se utilizó como control. Florfenicol resultó en el mayor perfil de resistencia de las cepas (8,7%). S. Schwarzengrund fue resistente a varios antimicrobianos. Conclusión: La Salmonella es una fuente de la producción de pollo de corte y una resistencia a los agentes antimicrobianos.O setor avícola brasileiro vem ganhando cada vez mais competitividade. Mas, entre as principais preocupações estão as doenças veiculadas por alimentos-DTAs. Salmonella se destaca entre os agentes biológicos veiculados por alimentos. Outra questão associada a patógenos é o aumento da resistência bacteriana aos antimicrobianos. Nesta pesquisa buscou-se identificar e caracterizar isolados de sorotipos de Salmonella sp. de uma cadeia produtiva de frango de corte, analisando o perfil de susceptibilidade a antimicrobianos. Amostras de frango foram obtidas de ambiente aviário, de cadeia produtiva no Sul do Brasil. Foram isoladas 23 linhagens de Salmonella enterica subesp. enterica sorotipo Heidelberg:n=16, e outras pertencentes aos sorotipos: Agona (n=1); Cubana (n=1) Virchow (n=1) Rissen (n=1); Schwarzengrund (n=1); M.Bandaka (n=1) e Anatum (n=1). O perfil de susceptibilidade antimicrobiana foi testado por disco difusão em ágar Mueller-Hinton, com os antimicrobianos: Fosfomicina 200µg, Ceftiofur 30µg, Norfloxacina 10µg, Ciprofloxacina 5µg, Enrofloxacina 5µg, Gentamicina 10µg, Neomicina 30µg e Florfenicol 30µg. S. enterica subsp. enterica sorotipo Typhimurium CCCD-S004 foi utilizada como padrão/controle. A incubação foi realizada a 35±1° C/24h. Florfenicol foi o antibiótico no qual houve maior número de linhagens resistentes (8,7%). O sorotipo Salmonella Schwarzengrund foi resistente também a vários antimicrobianos.
