Resumo: As a way of contributing to the implementation of Law 10.639 / 03, which made the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture mandatory in the school curriculum, in the interlocution with the teaching of Chemistry, this work presents a didactic transposition proposal that dialogue between the history and production of perfumes and history of Africa, in particular Egypt and its relation with essences and aromas. This proposal started with curiosity about the history of perfume, where it came from and how its technological development happened. Therefore, the didactic transposition “The chemistry of perfume and the history of Africa: mixes of essences and aromas from Egypt” sought to expand epistemological horizons by bringing together the history of Africa, especially Egypt, and its social, human and scientific importance for the world, of the curriculum proposal for the Chemistry component in first year of high school, involving chemical concepts, such as solution and volatilization.

Tal proposta surgiu da curiosidade sobre a história dos perfumes, de onde surgiu e como aconteceu seu desenvolvimento tecnológico.
