This study is to propose the identification and critical analysis of the theoretical currents that make up the archival thought, willing to discuss the historical and epistemological development of such chains, by comparing and collating its main concepts to understand and thus establishing relations with the Mediation information. Considering that there is no incidence of studies correlating the Information Mediation from the perspective of the foundations of theory Archival and Information Science in Brazilian literature. Thus, the problem question is: How the mediation of information is understood in archival theoretical currents? It is noteworthy that the problem raised also involves additional questions as: The Archival theory offers consolidated fundamentals that can support discussions related to Mediation info? What are the theoretical currents that consider relevant mediation of information? The methodology adopted is based on an epistemological approach, ie, conceptual analysis of the aspects involved aiming at contributing to a better understanding of the topic. The development and consolidation of archival theory can be considered recent when compared to other sciences also social, this is due in large part, by the fact that it was based on a set of very specific professional practices - the organization and file management . Therefore, it is considered that theoretical discussions are essential for ripening, as aim to address conceptual gaps. It is considered from the analyzes that there is a lack of discussion, however it is clear that the Information Mediation is present at various times of professional archival practices, from production disposal of documents and manifests itself at the time of user access.
