Comparação entre o perfil das condições sistêmicas e a presença do HPV em pacientes com líquen plano bucal

Lichen planus (LP) is characterized by a mucocutaneous condition of unknown etiology which affects the skin and oral mucosa. The pathogenesis of Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is still uncertain and may be related to autoimmune factors, microorganisms and systemic conditions. The aim of this study is to analyze the presence of HPV in fresh tissue of patients with OLP and to evaluate the correlation between the virus presence and systemic changes. 40 patients with OLP diagnosis were selected and 19 agreed to participate in the study, however only 9 patients had access to serological tests involved in the research until now. Data so far are preliminary, and due to the small sample it wasn't possible to perform statistical tests. PCR showed 22.22% (n = 2) patients had HPV in tissue, forming Positive Group (PG) and 77.78% (n = 7) didn't have the virus in tissue, forming the Negative Group (NG ). PG had atrophic and erosive lesions in all cases, and GN showed the same clinical forms in 28.57% (n = 2). It was also noted hypothyroidism in two cases, one in each group, and a significant IgA increase in PG patients compared to NG. PG group showed ANF reagent in 50% (N = 1) and NG in 14.29% (n = 1). A study with a larger sample is needed to other findings on the subject and to consolidate the results obtained so far
