In a normal occlusion, a balance between the apical bases in the sagittal, transverse and vertical directions is required. In some cases, the upper dental arch presents a morphological alteration that characterizes maxillary atresia. When there is no sagittal discrepancy, this atresia is characterized by a transverse maxillary deficiency in which it results in a clinical picture of posterior crossbite. Studies show that in patients with class I malocclusion, this type of bite is usually unilaterally disposed and when not treated in an early and correct way, it can negatively impact occlusion, growth and facial bone development of the patient. As treatment, Rapid Maxillary Expansion (ERM) was the most effective in the correction of transverse insufficiency, regardless of the type of expander used. Therefore, the objective of this study is to show by the report of a clinical case, the improvement of the maxillary transversal deficiency table using a new type of expander apparatus in which it has the same therapeutic function as the others already proposed, but it differs in the conformation, handling and protocols
