Resumo: Technologies that minimize the use of water, enhancing the use of localized irrigation systems while maintaining or increasing the productivity of irrigated crops are desirable. In this sense, the present work was developed under the hypothesis that the use of pulsed irrigation can be associated with deficient irrigation and still maintain or improve the productivity of the coriander crop (Coriandrum sativum L.). Thus, the objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of pulse drip under five irrigation water depths on the productivity and water relations of coriander crop. The research was carried in the dependencies of the Rural Federal University of Pernambuco, in a protected environment. The treatments consisted of two types of application (pulses and continuous) and five irrigation water depths (40, 60, 80, 100 and 120% of ETc). In pulsed irrigation, splitting the water depth in six irrigation pulses with 60-minute intervals of rest. The crop evapotranspiration was determined directly in drainage lysimeters. The experimental design was randomized blocks in 2 x 5 factorial scheme, with three replications, totaling ten treatments and thirty experimental units. The fresh and dry mass of the aerial part and root, percentage of dry mass of the aerial part and root, aerial part height and root length were analyzed, as well as the variables of water stress index, fresh and dry mass water use efficiency, water content in aerial part root, mass production index in aerial part and root, and root /aerial part ratio. At the end of the experiment the superiority of the pulsed application for all the variables was observed, being able to reach productivities superior to the continuous application. By adopting the strategy of pulse application it is possible to obtain an economy of approximately 40% of water in the commercial production in the vegetative phase of the coriander culture.

Neste sentido, o presente trabalho foi desenvolvido sob a hipótese de que o uso da irrigação por pulsos pode ser associado à irrigação deficitária e ainda assim manter ou melhorar a produtividade da cultura do coentro (Coriandrum sativum L.). Dessa forma, objetivou-se com esta pesquisa avaliar o efeito do gotejamento por pulsos sob cinco lâminas de fertirrigação na produtividade e relações hídricas da cultura do coentro. A pesquisa foi realizada nas dependências da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, em ambiente protegido. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de dois tipos de aplicação (pulsos e contínua) e cinco lâminas de fertirrigação (40, 60, 80, 100 e 120% da ETc). Na irrigação por pulsos adotou-se o parcelamento da lâmina em seis pulsos de irrigação com intervalos de 60 minutos de repouso. A Evapotranspiração de cultivo foi determinada de maneira direta em lisímetros de drenagem. O delineamento experimental adotado foi blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 x 5, com três repetições, totalizando dez tratamentos e trinta unidades experimentais. Foram analisadas a massa fresca e seca da parte aérea e raiz, percentagem da massa seca da parte aérea e raiz, altura de parte aérea e comprimento de raiz, além das variáveis índice de estresse hídrico, eficiência de uso de água da massa fresca e seca, teor de água na parte aérea e raiz, índice de produção de massa na parte aérea e raiz, razão raiz/parte aérea. Ao final do experimento observou-se a superioridade da aplicação por pulsos para todas as variáveis, podendo atingir produtividades superiores às obtidas por meio da aplicação contínua da fertirrigação.
