Viabilidade agronômica do sistema de plantio circular em condições de clima semiárido na Agricultura Familiar

Resumo: Living strategies with the semi-arid technologies, which are inexpensive, are experiences of transition from traditional to agroecosystems productive systems. The circular planting system is an alternative technology that has been highly used at Brazilian semiarid, as a way of improving social and economical conditions of rural families. The aim of this work was to study the agronomical viability of the circle planting system in semi-arid conditions. In order to do so, an experimental trial was performed at Estação de Agricultura Irrigada (EAI), which belongs to the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), located in Ibimirim-PE. The experiment was carried out in field, using randomized complete blocks with three repetitions in split-plots, where the plots were circular and rectangular beds and the split-plots were two kinds of fertilization (organic and mineral). The development of lettuce, coriander and kale were evaluated. The results demonstrated that circular planting system has showed recommended to the productive process of small producers, particularly those located in semi-arid regions. Temperature and relative humidity have remained the same, during the experiment, in lower levels than those observed in rectangular planting. On the other hand, for the crops, the observed phenotypic parameters permitted the conclusion that lettuce, coriander and kale crops showed better development. It wasn’t observed significant differences between both kinds of fertilization.

O sistema de plantio circular é uma tecnologia alternativa que vem sendo bastante empregada no Semiárido Brasileiro, como forma de melhorar as condições socioeconômicas das famílias rurais. Objetivou-se com este trabalho estudar a viabilidade agronômica do sistema de plantio circular em condições de semiárido. Para isso foi realizado um ensaio experimental na Estação de Agricultura Irrigada (EAI) da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) localizado no Município de Ibimirim-PE. O experimento foi conduzido em campo, em delineamento blocos casualizados em parcela subdividida, com três repetições, onde as parcelas foram os canteiros circulares e retangulares e as subparcelas dois tipos de adubações (orgânica e mineral). Avaliou-se neste experimento o desenvolvimento dos cultivos de alface, coentro e couve. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que o sistema de plantio circular apresentou-se recomendável para o processo produtivo de pequenos agricultores, especialmente aqueles localizados nas regiões semiáridas. A temperatura e a umidade relativa do ar se mantiveram, durante a condução do experimento, em patamares inferiores aos observados no plantio retangular. Já para as culturas estudadas, os parâmetros fenotípicos observados permitiram concluir que as culturas do coentro, da couve e a alface apresentaram melhores desenvolvimentos.
