Resumo: | The study was conducted to determine the effects of the replacement of cracked corn and soybean meal by sugar cane yeast (Saccharomyces spp.) and urea on nutrients intake, digestibility, live weight gain, carcass dressing and commercial cuts. Four diets were formulated where sugar cane yeast plus urea replaced 0, 10, 20 and 30% of cracked corn and soybean meal. Thirty two castrated male sheep were distributed on a completely randomized design with 75-day period (15 days for adaptation). The results had shown that dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF),crude protein (CP), and total carbohydrate (TC) intake were not affected by sugar cane yeast inclusion rate. However, intake of non-fiber carbohydrate (NFC) and ether extract (EE) decreased linearly when the level of sugar cane yeast in the diet increased. Crude protein, ether extract, neutral detergent fiber and, total carbohydrate digestibility were not affected by sugar cane yeast inclusion rate, but dry matter, organic matter and nonfiber carbohydrate digestibility were affected by sugar cane yeast inclusion. Slaughter weight, live weight gain, hot and cold carcass weight and, hot and cold carcass dressing decreased linearly when the level of sugar cane yeast in the diet increased. It wasconcluded that replacing cracked corn and soybean meal by sugar cane yeast and urea decreased TDN intake, and dry matter, organic matter and total carbohydrate digestibility. In addition, live weight gain, hot and cold carcass weight, carcass dressing and commercial cuts also decreased. |

Submitted by (lucia.rodrigues@ufrpe.br) on 2017-05-18T11:56:33Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Solon Ramos Aguiar.pdf: 86825 bytes, checksum: a74b224515b22925b72be788bba00629 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2017-05-18T11:56:33Z (GMT). The study was conducted to determine the effects of the replacement of cracked corn and soybean meal by sugar cane yeast (Saccharomyces spp.) and urea on nutrients intake, digestibility, live weight gain, carcass dressing and commercial cuts. |
