Avaliação ecocardiográfica, eletrocardiográfica e mensuração da pressão arterial em cães

In order to evaluate the main electrocardiographic, echocardiographic and blood pressure values, 60 male and female dogs of different ages, breeds and weight were examined, whether or not having preexisting diseases, from a private Veterinary Hospital in Recife/PE. A form containing data from the review and clinical changes of each patient was used. For the electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and blood pressure measurement, the following equipment were used, respectively: DCL 650, LOGIC AND BOOK and the oscillometric pressure device, PETMAP. Taking in consideration the high occurrence of cardiovascular diseases, it is of extreme importance the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment in order to provide better quality of life for these patients, since most of these diseases do not have specific treatment and in many cases it is only possible to keep control of them. According to the results, it was concluded that the main echocardiographic alterations are associated with heart diseases and nephropathies. The systolic and diastolic functions of the heart changes of considered normal in over half of the animals analyzed and the cardiomegaly was the alteration with the most frequency. The age group influenced on the animals that presented myxomatous degeneration and the sex did not influence in the preexisting diseases, however, it influenced on the final diastolic diameter, final systolic, ejection fraction and shortening. For the electrocardiogram the sinus arrhythmia was a determining factor followed by the migratory pacemaker and age. The QRS complex was the most significant difference most likely associated with disease control in these animals. The gender influenced in the P wave amplitude, being more considerable in females, and the nephrological disease was the one that presented appreciable electrocardiographic alterations. Regarding blood pressure, the animals that presented pre-existing nephrological diseases were those that had a greater alteration in the systolic, middle and diastolic pressures.
