Resumo: This paper considers the following questions: what is an author? What conditions can an author be legitimated in? Can the experience of the unconscious replace the classic question of the place of the author? Considering the act of writing that establishes in the subject a necessary exile condition, the discussion introduces the idea of an effacement of the place/suject so that the place/author can appear. Among other examples the present paper considers T.S. Eliot’s work.

Em que medida a experi­ ência do inconsciente pode reposicionar a clássica pergunta sobre a autoria? Considerando o ato de escrever que instaura no sujeito uma necessária condição de exílio percebe-se a pertinência da idéia de um apagamento do lugar/ sujeito para que o lugar/autor possa advir. Este autor se fundaria na medida em que cumpre a função de instaurador de discursividade (Michel Foucault). Entre outros exemplos o presente artigo revisita o trabalho do poeta T.S. Eliot que trouxe muitas luzes a esta discussão.Universidade de São Paulo.
