Resumo: | This article aims to problematize the black author's presence in contemporary Portuguese literature, trying to understand how this presence occurs and the social, political and literary mechanisms of eventual erasures and silences in the structuring of Portuguese society. Historical issues involving the Portuguese colonial process which reverberates in the structuring of this society in the 21st century will be addressed, resulting in racism as a distinctive feature of social relations and the muting of this issue by the public power and society in general. From this perspective, literature stands as a possibility of contributing to the processes of unveiling the mechanisms that guide social relations and contradictions and the resulting tensions with regard, especially to racial confrontations. |
