Resumo: Life in Latin-American cities recently influenced by the process of modernization was profoundly modified by the speed of communications by the end of the 19th century. The impact of this novelty affected the structure not only of journalistic but also literary texts, fantastic ones in particular, between 1880 and 1900. The present article analyses a set of Argentinian fictional writings produced during the aforementioned century. The technical reproduction disrupts these ficitons, in which modern genres, such as police, fantastic literature and scientific fantasy mix together while also condemns a failure on their contemporary historical referent. The voices of ghosts and mediums represented in these ficions reveal people´s new interest in the act of repetition as well as in verbal acts; interest, which had only been noticed in writing by then.

O impacto desta novidade se revelou tanto na disposição da trama dos textos jornalísticos como na problematização de que é objeto em algumas ficções, fantásticas, em particular, do período compreendido entre 1880 e 1900, marco histórico desta leitura, que trabalha com um conjunto de textos escritos na Argentina. A reprodução técnica funciona como perturbação destas ficções nas que se recombinam gêneros modernos como o policial, o fantástico e a fantasia científica e denuncia um desajuste no referente histórico contemporâneo às publicações. As vozes de fantasmas e médiuns ali representados revelam um novo interesse pelo ato da repetição e destaque do ato verbal, que só havia sido captado de sua fugacidade, até então, pela escrita.  La aceleración de las comunicaciones hacia fines del siglo XIX modificó profundamente la vida en las ciudades latinoamericanas atravesadas por el proceso modernizador. La reproducción técnica funciona como perturbación en estas ficciones en las que se recombinan géneros modernos como el policial, el fantástico y la fantasía científica y denuncia un desajuste en el referente histórico contemporáneo a las publicaciones.
