Reflections on autism clinics

Resumo: The psychoanalytic clinics with autistic children have been achieving results that bring some metapsychological advances, especially in regard to the understanding of the fates of the drive, besides the establishment of the circuit of the drive. However, this does not necessarily imply a corresponding knowledge of the etiologic causes. The clinical work carried out on the alienation/separation axis leads to a marked improvement in the child's condition, but it is not always sufficient to determine the causes of autism. Starting from the concept of psychic causality and the comparison of two clinical cases, we will discuss whether the manifestation and the symptom are under the cause/consequence logic or, being motivated by the work of distinct laws - the unconscious - differ from this logic.

En la clínica psicoanalítica con niños autistas se vienen produciendo resultados que proporcionan avances metapsicológicos, principalmente en relación a la comprensión de los destinos de la pulsión, así como la instauración del circuito pulsional. Esto no produce necesariamente un saber correspondiente sobre las causas etiológicas. El trabajo clínico realizado en el eje alienación/separación da como resultado una significativa mejora del niño pero no siempre es suficiente para explicar la causa del autismo. A partir del concepto de causalidad psíquica y de la comparación de dos casos clínicos discutiremos si la manifestación y el síntoma están bajo la lógica de la causa/consecuencia o si por ser motivados por tramas de leyes diferentes - el inconsciente - se distinguen de esta lógica. A clínica psicanalítica com crianças autistas vem produzindo resultados que proporcionam avanços metapsicológicos principalmente em relação à compreensão dos destinos da pulsão e a instauração do circuito pulsional. O que não necessariamente produz um saber correspondente sobre suas causas etiológicas. O trabalho clínico realizado no eixo da alienação/separação resulta em uma significativa melhora da criança, mas nem sempre é suficiente para explicar a causa do autismo. A partir do conceito de causalidade psíquica e da comparação de dois casos clínicos, discutiremos se a manifestação e o sintoma estão sob a lógica da causa/consequência ou por serem motivadas por tramas de leis distintas - o inconsciente - distinguem-se desta lógica.
