Resumo: | ABSTRACT: We know that nobody is willing to do the same reading of a familiar myth. Repetition is comforting in the innovation, in turn, is confrontational. This concept makes us become a myth familiar with conventional interpretations or already depleted, a new context, a new interpretation, something unusual. The comparison of the history of deaf education with the Myth of Plato's Cave, showing the rights and wrongs in this way, attempts to invalidate the identity and releases have occurred. And finally, presenting the life of deaf people, with the Royal Bilingualism, to go "seas never before navigated", bringing new perspectives contrary to current practices, once provided to our times.KEYWORDS: History the education about the deaf, Myth of the cave, Bilingualism and Identity. |

THE DEAF X THE CAVEO SURDO X A CAVERNAHistória da educação dos surdosMito da CavernaBilinguísmo e Identidade.ABSTRACT: We know that nobody is willing to do the same reading of a familiar myth. Unioeste2011-11-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/travessias/article/view/5384Travessias; Vol. 5 No. 2 (2011)Travessias; Vol. 5 Núm. 2 (2011)Travessias; v. 5 n. 2 (2011)1982-5935reponame:Travessias (Cascavel.
