Resumo: The Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) is a monitoring technology that can drastically change the way aircraft are tracked in airspace. With this system, aircraft transmit information that is completely essential for monitoring the safety of airspace and besides contributing to the fluidity of air traffic. No longer needing giant installations with high costs, with the ADS-B system, the controllers receive information such as position, speed, altitude and others with high precision. ADS-B has the potential to increase traffic capacity, improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve airspace safety. The general objective of this research was to know the ADS-B and multilateration technology and its advantages for operational security, as well as to analyze the benefits that will occur with its implementation throughout the national territory, meeting the growing demand of the air network. The present research has an exploratory character, with bibliographic and documentary procedure and with a qualitative approach.

Com esse sistema, as aeronaves transmitem informações completamente essenciais para o monitoramento da segurança do espaço aéreo além de facilitar a fluidez do tráfego. Dispensando instalações gigantes e com custos elevados, o sistema ADS-B transmite aos controladores informações como posição, velocidade, altitude entre outras com extrema precisão. O ADS-B tem o potencial de aumentar a capacidade do tráfego aéreo, melhorar a eficiência, reduzir custos e otimizar a segurança operacional. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi conhecer a tecnologia ADS-B e multilateração e suas vantagens para a segurança operacional, bem como, analisar os benefícios que ocorrerão com a sua implementação em todo o território nacional atendendo o crescimento da demanda da malha aérea.
