Agrotóxicos: manuseio e descarte de embalagens

Resumo: Brazil is one of the countries that most uses pesticides, from this fact comes the concern regarding their handling and the way their packaging is discarded. This study aimed to identify the knowledge of students and their families about the packaging, handling and disposal of pesticides in a municipality in the south of Santa Catarina. The investigation was carried out through a qualitative/inductive approach study, with phenomenological case study type procedure under exploratory level. Data collection was performed through interviews and semi-structured questionnaires applied to an intentionally selected sample in addition to direct observation by the researcher whose job function resides in an agricultural store (retailer of pesticides, among others). From the collection and analysis of the obtained data, a lecture based on the school institution (Basic Education, High School) was held for presentation to the students of the obtained results. The study verified the scarcity and lack of information about the subject for the population. It is also noted the slight relevance that is given to the theme in schools, even with the theme present in the context of students and can be approached in various subjects, especially in the Natural Sciences. There is a major need for the inclusion of these contents in the curriculum components of Basic Education and the development of school campaigns, non-governmental organizations and governmental organizations, so that the population, especially the rural ones, can be made aware of Dispose of used pesticide packaging with the utmost care, observing the legal indications for this destination.

O presente trabalho buscou identificar o grau de conhecimento de estudantes e seus familiares a respeito do acondicionamento, manipulação e descarte das agrotóxicos em um município do interior do sul de Santa Catarina. A investigação foi realizada através de um estudo de abordagem qualitativa/indutiva, com procedimento do tipo estudo de caso fenomenológico sob nível exploratório. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de entrevistas e questionários semiestruturados aplicados a uma amostra selecionada intencionalmente além da observação direta da investigadora cuja função laboral reside em uma loja agropecuária (fornecedora varejista de defensivos agrícolas, entre outros). A partir da coleta e análise dos dados obtidos, realizou-se uma palestra baseada na instituição escolar (Educação Básica, Ensino Médio) para apresentação aos estudantes dos resultados obtidos. Verificou-se, com o estudo, a escassez e o desconhecimento da informação sobre o assunto para a população. Percebe-se também a ínfima relevância que é dada ao tema nas escolas, mesmo com a temática presente no contexto dos discentes e podendo ser abordado em diversas disciplinas, especialmente nas Ciências da Natureza.
