Resumo: Archeology, in southern Brazil, is much more represented by sambaquieiros and ceramists, both belonging to the Tupi-Guarani tradition, who used to build sambaquis, often monumental, or had the tradition of making ceramics. Zooarcheology follows a line of study simultaneous to archeology, as it studies the fauna fragments associated with archaeological sites, raising hypotheses to corroborate studies already developed or under development. In the archaeological sites of the southern coast of Santa Catarina State, the presence of zooarchaeological material is always quite representative, often accounting for 80% of the package that makes up the archaeological layers. The study of this type of material has a very enriching informative potential, since it is possible to understand the relationship of human populations that occupied the region's coast in pre-colonial times and how they related to the environment and its resources. This research aimed to analyze the scientific production of archaeological research, involving the study of zooarchaeological collections of the coast of Santa Catarina State to verify the methodologies of collection and analysis. Regarding the methodology, it is a descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative approach. A bibliometric survey was carried out about zooarchaeological studies carried out in archaeological sites of Santa Catarina coast, mainly sambaqui. Through this survey, we sought to describe the main methods used in research in zooarcheology conducted in the state. A survey was carried out in key journals of universities with archeology programs and in BDTD and Scielo for keywords such as Archeology, Santa Catarina, Zooarcheology. All results were filtered by title and by date, only those that fit were tabulated. With a total of 18 articles, 10 of these fit the theme of this research, as there were sufficient methodologies focused on zooarcheology. As the reading and analysis of the articles occurred, it could be seen that there is no standard methodological approach being used in Brazil. Many of the studies are related to a methodological adaptation of articles by Figuti (1999), other authors are cited more frequently as Rosa (2008) and Klokler (2012). As stated in the study, there is no methodological standard for Zooarchaeological research.

As stated in the study, there is no methodological standard for Zooarchaeological research.
