Resumo: The present work aims to analyze the current situation of the family, located in the city of Braço do Norte SC, benefiting its characteristics and use. Considered as a means of leisure, a thematic framework as people not only places for leisure, but also quality of life, prevention of diseases, and also as a form of socialization. The plazas as public spaces, play important roles in the urban environment, among them are the integration of the community and the improvement of the environmental quality. Therefore, the work presented consists of a study about them, bringing the same idea to the city, for what the municipality presents in relation to leisure spaces. Where there is an opportunity to carry out activities for all ages, improve the quality of life of the residents of the municipality and the region.

Considerada como um meio de lazer, a praça tem como objetivo propiciar as pessoas não apenas um local para o lazer, mas também qualidade de vida, prevenção de doenças, e também como uma forma de sociabilização. As praças como espaço público, desempenham importantes funções no ambiente urbano, entre elas a integração da comunidade e a melhoria da qualidade ambiental. Sendo assim, o trabalho proposto consiste em um estudo sobre praças, trazendo a mesma para a cidade, pela necessidade que o município apresenta em relação aos espaços de lazer.
