What are the key solutions and measures proposed by the European Union to mitigate the current economic crisis in the Eurozone? With the integration process underway for more than half a century, its consolidation allowed the development of convergent policies in the social and economic facilities, institutionalized by the formation of the European Union and further refined by the Economic and Monetary Union, having its point of greatest prominence in adoption of the euro as a single currency, which was fully functional in 2002 . However, after less than a decade, efforts to approximate the eurozone have been tested by a sudden financial crisis of major proportions that have not yet been overcome. Currently there are projects put in place by the European bodies in order to overcome the crisis, stimulate economic development and promote sustainability. These initiatives encourage the maintenance of institutions and seek to provide continuity of the European integration process.
