Resumo: This study searches to contribute for understanding manners which school uniforms were portrayed by educational press, however for subscribed articles by prestigious authors of subject, however by leaflets with intercalated the texts. It still intends again looks over the students’ perception about school uniforms through the school newspaper study and prescription related for use these clothing in the educational handbook used in normal courses. Moreover, the educational effective legislation concludes analysis. The studied period consists in the expansion of public school in the state of São Paulo, when opportunities of public education extended to greater parts of population who were aside of this process. This research identifies how the obligation of wearing school uniforms follows the offer of application of the poorest population in the school system.

Pretende-se ainda examinar a percepção dos alunos acerca dos uniformes escolares por meio do estudo do jornal escolar e das prescrições relacionadas ao uso deste vestuário nos manuais pedagógicos utilizados nos cursos normais. Além disso, a legislação educacional complementa a análise. O período estudado compreende a época de expansão da escola pública no estado de São Paulo, quando as oportunidades de educação pública passaram a estender-se a significativas parcelas da população que antes estavam à margem deste processo.
