Culture, interculturalism and globalization in the programmes of Management courses: a perspective based on the best evaluated courses in Minas Gerais state, Brazil

Resumo: Managers and employees must be prepared to establish relationships within organizations, which act today in a globalized context. Thus, curricula should contemplate culture and interculturalism for allowing them to acquire knowledge and to develop capacities for the establishing more positive and healthy relationships with those who share their organizational environment. Therefore, this study sought to evaluate if the higher education institutions of Minas Gerais are preparing managers able to deal with intercultural issues. The qualitative approach was chosen as methodological perspective. Data were collected through desk research and a questionnaire. The study focused on management courses that obtained top marks in the ENADE 2012 test and the results showed that among the institutions that participated in the study, none of them seems to prioritize the issues of globalization and interculturalism in the training of future managers. Those topics are discussed, but they come second the curricula.

Assim, são necessários currículos que contemplem cultura e interculturalidade a fim de que adquiram conhecimentos e possam desenvolver capacidades relativas ao estabelecimento de relações mais positivas e saudáveis entre os que compartilham o ambiente organizacional. Nesse sentido, este estudo objetivou avaliar se as instituições de ensino superior de Minas Gerais estão formando administradores aptos a lidarem com a questão intercultural. A abordagem qualitativa foi escolhida como perspectiva metodológica. Os dados foram coletados por meio de pesquisa documental e de questionário.
