We compare cloud. identifications resulting from our method to those obtained by the Central Laser Facility of the Auger Observatory. Using our new method we can now develop cloud probability maps for the 3000 km(2) of the Pierre Auger Observatory twice per hour with a spatial resolution of similar to 2.4 km by similar to 5.5 km. Our method could also be applied to monitor cloud cover for other ground-based observatories and for space-based observatoriesCONSELHO NACIONAL DE DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO E TECNOLÓGICO - CNPQFINANCIADORA DE ESTUDOS E PROJETOS - FINEPFUNDAÇÃO CARLOS CHAGAS FILHO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO - FAPERJFUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO - FAPESPFechadoUNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DE CAMPINASBatista, Rafael Alves, 1987-Chinellato, José Augusto, 1950-Daniel, Bruno, 1987-Mello Junior, Walter José Medeiros de, 1971-Chinellato, Carola Dobrigkeit, 1952-Escobar, Carlos Ourivio, 1948-Fauth, Anderson Campos, 1957-Kemp, Ernesto, 1965-Müller, Márcio Aparecido, 1975-Selmi-Dei, Daniel Pakk, 1978-Silva, Marcelo Zimbres, 1980-2013info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleapplication/pdfhttps://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12733/6334BATISTA, Rafael Alves et al.
