Resumo: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Tutor Training Course offered by the Distance Education Center of the Rio de Janeiro Federal University, regarding the amount and relevance of content given to the tutors. The opinion of 24 training course graduates was collected using the user-based approach. A survey with 35 closed questions with spaces for comments and a measurement scale were used. The results pointed out the need to review some indicators and suggested that: (a) the competences developed in the course are in line with the pedagogical literature; (b) the course addressed relevant and consistent content for the training; (c) the course achieve its main goal: to prepare the participants to work as distance education tutors. Graduates’ evaluation.O estudo avaliou o Curso de Formação de Tutores oferecido pelo Núcleo de Capacitação a Distância da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro quanto à suficiência e pertinência de seus conteúdos e contribuições dadas à formação de tutores. Buscou-se a opinião de 24 egressos do curso, usando a abordagem baseada nos usuários. Um questionário composto por 35 questões fechadas com espaços para comentários e uma escala de mensuração foram utilizados. Os resultados apontaram a necessidade de revisão de alguns indicadores e sugeriram que: (a) as competências desenvolvidas no curso estão em consonância com a literatura pedagógica; (b) o curso abordou conteúdos relevantes e consistentes para a formação do tutor; e (c) o curso cumpriu seu objetivo principal: capacitar os servidores para atuarem como tutores a distância.
