Resumo: Although high cholesterol is one of the main causes of death in Brazil, if diagnosis is early, its effects are less and may be easily controlled. Current paper analyzes the occurrence and diagnoses the possible behavior that contributes towards high cholesterol in the town of Serranópolis do Iguaçu PR Brazil. Research with 100 inhabitants was undertaken by a questionnaire in health units, pharmacies and body-building centers. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results show that healthy attitudes by the population require incentives from the government aiming at healthier food and daily physical exercises.

O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo analisar a incidência e diagnosticar possíveis comportamentos que contribuem para a elevação do colesterol da população da cidade de Serranópolis do Iguaçu, situada no Estado do Paraná. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa com por 100 moradores da cidade em questão, aplicando um questionário nos postos de saúde, academia e farmácias do local. Os dados foram analisados por meio da estatística descritiva e inferencial.
