A representação social acerca dos discursos autoritários na sociedade atual

Brazil is currently experiencing a growing wave, by its citizens, of more active participation in the country's social and governmental issues. What allows this active participation of the population is the fact that the country is a Democratic State of Law. Despite this, in the current government there are traces of authoritarianism in the speeches addressed to society, not only from the current country's leader, but also from his supporters in general. To analyze the Social Representations of people on these speeches, a field study, descriptive and of a qualitative and quantitative nature was carried out. 48 people were selected to participate in this study by means of the non-probabilistic technique for convenience and they had to be residents in Brazil and over 18 years old, and those who didn't complete the questionnaire and/or were foreigners were also excluded from the study. A sociodemographic questionnaire was used, containing specific open questions guided by the objectives of this study and a scale of agreement of speeches. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis of Bardin were used.. The questionnaire was meant to be answered individually through an online platform.Most of the participants were women, with incomplete graduation, students and with left-wing political positioning. In the evocative representations, the category with the highest percentage was authoritarianism and subcategory was imposition. According to the results presented by the scale, it was possible to observe that most participants disagreed with the discourses. Based on this, it was possible to conclude that people tend not to agree with authoritarian discourses, making a negative evaluation of them, as well as not feel represented by the current government.
