Resumo: Effect of row spacings (30, 40 and 50 cm), fertilizer levels (300 and 500 kg/ha of formula 4-30-16), cultivars (EMGOPA 201-Ouro, Carioca, TC 1558-1 and Mineiro Precoce), and residual fertilizer levels, applied to the previous rice crop (250, 400 and 550 kg/ha of formula 4-30-16) were studied, during three years, on the growth, root development and water consumption of common bean planted in rotation with rice under center pivot. Mineiro Precoce and TC 1558-1 cultivars were replaced by 'RH 7-23' and 'Safira', from the second year onwards. In general, increasing fertilization and reducing row spacing resulted in leaf area duration (D) increase. The effect of fertilization on dry matter yield depended on row spacing and cultivar. The effect of row spacing on that parameter was variable in different cultivars. At the highest fertilizer level, most of the cultivars showed positive correlation between D and grain yield. Relative root distribution and water consumption were little affected by the treatments.

Pesquisa Agropecuaria BrasileiraPesquisa Agropecuária BrasileiraStone, Luis FernandoPereira, Ana Lúcia1994-06-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/4136Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira; v.29, n.6, jun. 1994; 939-954Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira; v.29, n.6, jun. 1994; 939-9541678-39210100-104xreponame:Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online)instname:Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)instacron:EMBRAPAporhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/4136/1427info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2012-02-13T20:45:05Zoai:ojs.seer.sct.embrapa.br:article/4136Revistahttp://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pabPRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phppab@sct.embrapa.br || sct.pab@embrapa.br1678-39210100-204Xopendoar:2012-02-13T20:45:05Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online) - Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)false
