Summary: | The aim of this research was to evaluate the practical diet crude protein (CP) diets based on the ideal protein for the growth of yellow-tail lambari Astyanax bimaculatus juvenile. The experimental design was completely randomized being 6 powder feed (18.9, 21.3, 23.7, 26.5, 28.6 and 31.2% CP), with 4 replicates each. Were used 24 aquariums (20 fish each, initial weight 1.29 ± 0.08g) with 80-liter water recirculation system. Water were maintained at 23.2 ± 0.95oC, pH 7.2 ± 0.2, alkalinity 30.3 ± 8.0mg CaCO3 L-1. The assay lasted 70 days, fed 4 times daily at 7.0 to 3.5% of body weight per day. In all treatments, they survived above 80% with the final weight between 4.2 and 5.8g. The results of the final weight, feed efficiency, productivity and production cost, indicate that the better practical diet for grow-out the yellow-tail lambari was the diet containing 26% CP. |

O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, sendo 6 dietas fareladas, com 4 repetições cada, os quais apresentavam nível proteico de 18,9, 21,3, 23,7, 26,5, 28,6 e 31,2% PB, respectivamente. Usou-se 24 aquários de 80 litros com 20 peixes cada, com recirculação de água mantido à 23,2 ± 0,95 oC; pH 7,2 ± 0,2; alcalinidade 30,3 ± 8,0 mg CaCO3 L-1. O ensaio durou 70 dias, iniciando com lambaris de 1,29 ± 0,08 g, alimentados 4 vezes ao dia na quantidade de 7,0 a 3,5% do peso vivo por dia. Em todos os tratamentos a sobrevivência foi acima de 80% com o peso final entre 4,2 a 5,8 g.
