Selection of peach clones for productivity, adaptability and stability

Resumo: This study aimed to estimate genetic and phenotypic parameters of features related to productivity in peach clones and study the applicability of the statistics MHVG, PRVG and MHPRVG, with the aid of BLU/REML procedure, on the identification of clones that meet, simultaneously, high productivity, adaptability and genotypic stability. 84 clones were tested in a randomized block design with three replications and one plant per plot, during two consecutive growing seasons (2007 and 2008), in Urussanga, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. The features evaluated were: fruit yield per plant (PTF) and average fruit weight (MMF). It was found that clones 57 and 51 stood out among the other evaluated; the statistics MHVG, PRVG and MHPRVG are appropriated to be used as criteria for selection of superior clones and the feature MMF was little influenced by the environment.

Foram testados 84 clones no delineamento blocos ao acaso com três repetições e parcelas de uma planta, durante duas safras consecutvas (2007 e 2008) em Urussanga, SC. Os caracteres avaliados foram: produção de frutos por planta (PTF) e massa média dos frutos (MMF). Verificou-se que os clones 57 e 51 destacaram-se entre os demais avaliados; que as estatstcas MHVG, PRVG e MHPRVG são boas alternativas para ser utlizadas como critérios para seleção de clonessuperiores e que o caráter MMF foi pouco influenciado pelo ambiente.
