Analysis of internationalization process of IBQ Britanite under the perspective of the behavioral approach

Resumo: The process of internationalization of companies has proceeded in different ways and contexts. Among the models that guide and explain the moves made by companies into the international market, this study is on the behavioral perspective of internationalization theories  The main objective of this paper is to analyze, in the light of the theoretical assumptions of the behavioral approach, the process of internationalization of IBQ Britanite, leader in the Brazilian civil explosives and providing services in blasting rocks . Therefore, the study is characterized by bias qualitative study using a single case study that answers the five questions of the internationalization process: why, what, when, where and how companies internationalize their activities. The results show that the process of internationalization of the company came to advantages gained both domestically and restrictions growth. Throughout his international career, the company gradually progressed in export activities, and also for stages greater commitment to the foreign market through joint ventures and production subsidiary.

Dentre os modelos que orientam e explicam os movimentos realizados pelas empresas em direção ao mercado internacional, este estudo centra-se na perspectiva comportamental das teorias de internacionalização. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é analisar, à luz dos pressupostos teóricos da abordagem comportamental, o processo de internacionalização da IBQ Britanite, líder no mercado brasileiro de explosivos civis e na prestação de serviços em desmonte de rochas. Logo, o estudo caracteriza-se pelo viés qualitativo, realizado por meio de um estudo de caso único que responde a cinco questões básicas do processo de internacionalização: por que, o que, quando, onde e como as empresas internacionalizam suas atividades. Os resultados mostram que o processo de internacionalização da IBQ Britanite partiu de vantagens obtidas no mercado doméstico e de restrições de crescimento nesse mercado.
