A primeira parte, aborda o surgimento das escolas confessionais luteranas ligadas especialmente ao Sínodo Riograndense que, posteriormente, com outros Sínodos eclesiásticos, formou a Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana no Brasil - IECLB. O surgimento das escolas luteranas é visto a partir da realidade do sistema educacional brasileiro e seu desenvolvimento nas diferentes etapas históricas. A pergunta sobre a realidade do Ensino Religioso nas escolas, assim como as decisões e providências tomadas pela IECLB em relação à disciplina, finalizam esta primeira parte. A segunda parte, pergunta pela proposta pedagógica luterana, a partir da teologia e do pensamento pedagógico de Martinho Lutero. A proposta pedagógica do ensino cristão, como identidade da escola luterana a partir do seu fundamento evangélico, determina o cotidiano escolar e estabelece um diferencial para a escola luterana no contexto educacional brasileiro. A terceira parte, aborda a fase da adolescência, nos seus aspectos biológicos, psicossociais e cognitivos, a partir das teorias do desenvolvimento. Um aspecto importante é a questão da religiosidade de adolescentes. Para responder esta questão, foi realizada uma pesquisa social, com perguntas sobre Deus e fé. A quarta e última parte, pergunta pela natureza da disciplina Ensino Religioso numa escola confessional luterana. A resposta é buscada levando em conta a proposta pedagógica do ensino cristão e as necessidades de adolescentes, como mostradas pela pesquisa social, realizada com alunos e alunas que freqüentam a disciplina. A última parte, finaliza com uma proposta de trabalho com adolescentes, na escola confessional luterana, a partir das características da adolescência e das necessidades que esta fase da vida determina para o ser humano. O Ensino Religioso com adolescentes, na escola confessional, deveria ser um espaço ecumênico, seguro e protegido, onde adolescentes pudessem colocar suas dúvidas e perguntar pelo sentido da vida e do futuro, recebendo respostas fundamentadas na ação de Deus, sendo orientados/as a tomarem decisões e fazerem escolhas, para poderem se integrar gradativamente na sociedade de adultos, como pessoas autônomas e responsáveis.This dissertation analyses the discipline of Religious Education for adolescents in Lutheran schools. The first part describes the emergence of confessional schools, particularly of those related to the Riograndense Synod, which later on, along with other synods, formed the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB). The emergence of Lutheran schools is seen against the background o f the Brazilian educational system and its development in various historical stages. This first part is concluded with considerations on the reality of Religious Education in Lutheran schools and on the decisions and arrangements made by the IECLB in relation to that discipline. The second part analyses the Lutheran concept of pedagogy on the basis of Martin Luther’s theological and pedagogical thinking. The pedagogical rationale for Christian Education, as an element of its identity based on the foundation of the gospel, determines the school’s daily life and establishes a differentiating factor of Lutheran schools in the context of education in Brazil. The third part describes the stage of adolescence in its biological, psychosocial and cognitive aspects on the basis of the theories of development. One important element in this context is the issue of the religiosity of adolescents. In order do address this issue a social research was conducted, including questions about God and faith. The fourth and last part raises the question about the nature of Religious Education as a discipline in a Lutheran confessional school. The answer to this question takes into account the pedagogical rationale for Christian education and the adolescents’ needs as shown by the social research carried out among students who attend the course on Christian Education. The last part is concluded with the description of a plan of work with adolescents in Lutheran schools on the basis of the characteristics of adolescence and the needs that this life stage brings with it.
