Para realizar essa tarefa visita-se os conceitos de literatura, arte, mito, hermenêutica, verdade, filosofia, tragédia grega e bíblia, tendo como objetivo refletir/compreender sobre a importância do mito grego e hebraico-cristão, narrados, respectivamente, na tragédia grega e na bíblia, como textos literários, para o processo de construção do mundo ocidental. A referência teórica lançada é a do olhar de Nietzsche a partir da obra “A Origem da Tragédia”. Tudo isso tem como pano de fundo e perspectiva que o texto literário convida o leitor/interprete para que na sedução/compreensão estética, na complexidade narrativa e estrutura literária ele amplie sua consciência de mundo, sua capacidade de diálogo, sua compreensão de si mesmo e do próprio mundo, do outro. Entendendo que toda criação humana, de maneira inevitável, carrega consigo a herança sócio-histórica, afirmamos que a literatura não é exceção, pois ela nasce e se desenvolve em íntima relação com uma sociedade, um povo e seu processo histórico, sendo escrita por e para seres humanos de uma dada sociedade, refletindo de certo modo sua organização social, cultura, crenças etc. Além da consideração estética, a literatura é um fenômeno social e a ação da sociedade revela-se: na obra, no autor e no leitor.This paper works with the perspective that Greek tragedy, as well as the biblical text, is part of a field of theological-literary and philosophical-literary representations and symbolic structure which constitute a common nucleus of the forms of knowledge of the human being and of the world. To carry out this task the concepts of literature, art, myth, hermeneutics, truth, philosophy, Greek and biblical tragedy are visited with the goal of reflecting on/comprehending the importance of the Greek and Hebrew-Christian myths, narrated, respectively in the Greek tragedy and in the Bible as literary texts, in the process of constructing the Western world. The theoretical reference put forth is that of the perspective of Nietzsche based on the work “The Origin of the Tragedy”. All of this has as background and perspective that the literary text invites the reader/interpreter through the esthetic seduction/comprehension, in the narrative complexity and the literary structure, to widen their conscience of the world, their capacity for dialog, their understanding of themselves and of the world itself, of the other.
