Procura encontrar na teologia da graça possibilidades de desidealização do ministério pastoral, tal como vivido e ensinado pelo reformador Martinho Lutero. O primeiro capítulo enfoca o eixo sócio-histórico-cultural, buscando verificar como foram sendo construídas as representações sociais da imagem e identidade pastorais, bem como analisando o seu processo de crise e desconstrução na contemporaneidade. O segundo capítulo trata do eixo psicológico, buscando compreender como se dão os processos psíquicos de idealização neurótica, a partir de conceitos seletos de três teorias psicológicas: a psicanálise freudiana, a psicologia analítica de Jung e a psicanálise culturalista de Karen Horney. O terceiro capítulo busca apresentar evidências de que o sofrimento pastoral é uma realidade no mundo eclesiástico, devendo, por isso, ser admitida no âmbito das instituições religiosas, no âmbito das comunidades de fé e no âmbito dos próprios pastores, sem que isso seja considerado como uma ameaça à perda da autoridade ou dignidade pastoral. O quarto capítulo vai tratar da teologia do ministério pastoral, verificando como esse tema é definido pela Bíblia, compreendido pela Igreja Primitiva, e interpretado no pensamento de Lutero, das Confissões luteranas e dos textos contemporâneos da igreja luterana. O quinto e último capítulo procura apresentar o percurso do reformador Martinho Lutero pelos meandros da idealização neurótica até a descoberta da teologia da graça, demonstrando que a teologia e antropologia do reformador auxiliam na desconstrução de qualquer tentativa de idealização do pastorado. A pesquisa empírica, realizada com 223 pastores, num percentual de 25,87% de toda a população de pastores da denominação religiosa investigada, demonstrou nos seus resultados que há significativos elementos de sofrimento pastoral no meio pastoral luterano, bem como indica evidentes percepções de idealização do ofício pastoral na referida igreja por parte da maioria dos pastores. A pesquisa evidencia a existência de um distanciamento entre a teologia do ministério pastoral na igreja luterana, que é desidealizada, para com as experiências e vivências sentidas pelos pastores no exercício do seu ministério pastoral. A pesquisa indica a necessidade de se retomar, junto à igreja luterana, o resgate do pensamento de Martinho Lutero acerca do ministério, tanto em sua antropologia como na exposição da teologia da graça. Esse resgate poderá auxiliar nos processos de desidealização do ministério pastoral bem como promover uma necessária humanização desse ministério, no sentido de acolher com mais amor e graça as falhas e limitações pastorais.This dissertation presents a bibliographic, documental and empirical research about the pastoral image and identity, seeking to verify possible processes of neurotic idealization of religious ministers of a Lutheran Protestant denomination. It seeks to find in the theology of grace possibilities of de-idealization of the pastoral ministry as lived out and taught by the reformer Martin Luther. The first chapter focuses on the social-historical-cultural axis, seeking to verify how the social representations of the pastoral image and identity were constructed as well as analyze their process of crisis and deconstruction in contemporary times. The second chapter deals with the psychological axis seeking to understand how the psychic processes of neurotic idealization occurs based on selected concepts of three psychological theories: Freudian psychoanalysis, the analytical psychology of Jung and the culturalist psychoanalysis of Karen Horney. The third chapter seeks to present evidence that pastoral suffering is a reality in the ecclesiastical world, which therefore should be admitted within the environs of the religious institutions, of the faith communities and of the pastors themselves without this being considered a threat of loss of pastoral authority or dignity. The fourth chapter deals with the theology of the pastoral ministry verifying how this theme is defined in the Bible, understood by the Primitive Church and interpreted in Luther’s thoughts, the Lutheran Confessions and the contemporary texts of the Lutheran church. The fifth and last chapter seeks to present the trajectory of the reformer Martin Luther through the meanders of the neurotic idealization until the discovery of the theology of grace demonstrating that the theology and anthropology of the reformer helped in the deconstruction of any attempt of idealizing the pastorate. The empirical research, carried out with 223 pastors, a 25.87 percentage of the whole population of pastors of the religious denomination investigated, showed in its results that there are significant elements of pastoral suffering in the midst of Lutheran pastors, as well as points out evident perceptions of the idealization of the pastoral office in the referred to church on the part of the majority of the pastors. The research showed the existence of a distancing between the theology of the pastoral ministry of the Lutheran church, which is de-idealized, from the experiences lived out and felt by the pastors exercising their pastoral ministry. The research indicates the need take up with the Lutheran church the recovery of Martin Luther’s thought about ministry, in his anthropology as well as in the exposition of the theology of grace.
