Resumo: This essay analyses how communication vehicles treat indigenous subjects through a real case: the process of torture and amnesty of the aikewara people. This article focus especially on the political context in which such abuses occurred – the military dictatorship and the Araguaia Guerrilla War –, as well as the AI-5 as a specific mechanism to make the situation worse. In order to do so, firstly the facts that involved the aikewara, whose story still remains unknown by a big part of the public, are analysed. Based on such context, it is discussed the presence of the native at communication means and how they are depicted on these means, making a parallel with stereotypes originated during the European colonialism.

Parágrafo2019-05-27info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.fiamfaam.br/index.php/recicofi/article/view/841Parágrafo; v. 6 n. 3 (2018): 13a Edição: Revista Parágrafo: Setembro-Dezembro de 2018; 392317-4919reponame:Parágrafoinstname:Centro Universitário FIAM-FAAMinstacron:FIAMFAAMporhttps://revistaseletronicas.fiamfaam.br/index.php/recicofi/article/view/841/595Copyright (c) 2019 Parágrafoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGonçalves, Thomas JeffersonPaulino, Fernando Oliveira2019-05-28T22:33:08ZRevistahttps://revistaseletronicas.fiamfaam.br/index.php/recicofiPRI
