Resumo: | The essential oils of Aniba parviflora(Meisn) Mez. (Lauraceae) were assessed in relation to its chemical constitution, antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. The essential oils (EO) from leaf and branch of A. parviflorawere active against pathogenic strains of Staphylococcusaureusand Enterococcus faecalis. It has presented respectively 13 and 9 mm of inhibition halos. Using the broth microdilution, the EO presented a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2.0 mg/mL for both bacteria, S. aureusand E. faecalis. Regarding its antioxidant activity, the essential oils from leaf and branch has shown no ability to reduce the free radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS), 74 compounds were identified in the essential oils of leaves and branches of A. parviflora, in which the monoterpene linalool was the major compound in both oils. |

Centro de Inovação em Biodiversidade e Saúde - Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz2019-11-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmlhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/78810.32712/2446-4775.2019.788Revista Fitos; Vol. 13 No. 3 (2019); 181-191Revista Fitos; Vol. 13 Núm. 3 (2019); 181-191Revista Fitos; v. 13 n. 3 (2019); 181-1912446-47751808-9569reponame:Revista Fitosinstname:Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)instacron:FIOCRUZporhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/788/618https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/788/619Copyright (c) 2019 Revista Fitosinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBatista, Luana TravassosSarrazin, Sandra Laise Ferreirade Moura, Valéria Mourãodos Santos, Ilia Gilmara CarvalhoJunior, Sérgio DuvoisinAlbuquerque, Patrícia Melchionna2019-12-20T13:02:03Zoai:ojs.revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br:article/788Revistahttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/PUBhttp://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/oairevistafitos@far.fiocruz.br || eugenio.telles@far.fiocruz.br2446-47752446-4775opendoar:2019-12-20T13:02:03Revista Fitos - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)false |
