The production chain in Biotechnology Innovation Management: camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia H. B. K.) in the Amazon

Increased competitiveness and productivity impact the elaboration and action of public policies that enhance ecosystems and geosystems in the face of technological development. In this context, the definition and role of Biotechnology is emphasized as a technological process that allows the use of biological material for scientific, technological and industrial purposes. In this perspective, the objectives of this work are: to demonstrate the interaction of Biotechnology innovation management with the production chain, and later to analyze the camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia H. B. K.) production chain in the state of Amazonas. field work and survey of official data (IBGE, IPEA, among others) to identify themes and criteria to be used in the spatial analysis of the production chain of camu-camu products, from 2014 to 2018. Camu-camu is among the fruits with the real functional and industrial pote ntial, due to the high levels of vitamin C. The relationship society-nature and camu-camu, is inserted in an environment of competition for the dominance of markets with higher profits, because it is in a broader market, which is the biodiversity market, where the connections and interdependencies between the different subjects reveal the unequal spatial distribution of value.
