Resumo: Demand for food in the world, driven by population growth and the inevitable continuity of the urbanization process in developing countries such as China and India, allows us to recognize that Brazil, with its largest expanse of arable land in the world and its wide variety climate and soils, makes agribusiness one of the most important economic sectors. The study conducted in this research uses the qualitative method, descriptive and exploratory, with theoretical approach and based on secondary data, which favors faster access to information by collecting data from the websites of the institutions responsible for monitoring the development of the research sector studied. Despite the many challenges facing the sector in terms of policies and infrastructure, the recent negative impacts of research, such as "The Weak Meat" or the "Super" North American Soybean crop, the agribusiness trade balance still stand out maintains growth rates on a positive trend curve in 2017 compared to 2016. It concluded that after two years in a scenario of economic crisis, agribusiness indicators are favorable for a growth trajectory and with exports that continue to support the trade balance. However, more attention should be paid to the diversification of agribusiness to better protect the Brazilian market.

It concluded that after two years in a scenario of economic crisis, agribusiness indicators are favorable for a growth trajectory and with exports that continue to support the trade balance. However, more attention should be paid to the diversification of agribusiness to better protect the Brazilian market.
